switch
providing fully certified, IP66/IP68 sealed

Transport Switches
Techna introduces the latest L Series 1 and 2 pole rocker
switch
range from Carling Technologies.
For transportation and numerous other applications, the L Series
offer total design flexibility in an elegantly styled product
with virtually countless switch and lamp circuit combinations,
ratings, LED or incandescent illuminated lenses or laser etched
rockers, in a variety of finishes and colours and with up to
twelve terminals, provides hundreds of legend choices as well as
a wide range of accessories.
These switches snap-into the industry standard 44mm x 22mm panel
cut-out and an optional plug-in terminal connector enables the
pre-wiring of wire harnesses.
The L Series is vibration, shock, thermo-shock, moisture and salt
spray resistant and is front of panel sealed to IP67 with
operation over the temperature range -40ºC to +85ºC.
Actuators are convex rockers with large lens, bar lens or a
combination of the two and terminals are either 0.25 or 0.187
quick connect tabs.
Options include a hole plug, custom colours and legends,
progressive circuits and rear terminal connector.
Low-Cost Rocker Switches
Techna introduce their low-cost rocker
switch ranges available
in 1, 2 and 3 pole configurations, illuminated or
non-illuminated in ratings of 6A, 10A or 16A for snap-in
mounting in industry standard cut-outs.
With bases in Nylon 66 and rockers in Nylon 66 or polycarbonate
(flammability UL94,V-2).
Terminals may be 4.8 x 0.8mm Q.C., 6.3 x 0.8mm Q.C., Solder or
p.c.b., with switching functions of ON/OFF, (ON)/OFF, ON/(OFF),
ON/ON, (ON)/ON, ON/OFF/ON, (ON)/OFF/ON, (ON)/OFF/(ON) where ( )
is momentary, and there are many legends available, together
with various colour combinations.
Approvals include CSA (CUS), VDE, to reference standards IEC
61058-1, CSA-C22.2 and UL 1054.
The 81 and 84 series switches rated at up to 16A, 250Vac, are
fully certified to UL, CSA and TUV and provide a wide choice of
terminations, functions, and an unparalleled selection of
base/actuator colours in illuminated or solid rockers for the
most modern equipment design applications, in an aesthetically
pleasing ‘rounded’ design.
Sealed Rocker Switches
The sheer versatility of the Carling Technologies V Series
rocker switch range available from Techna, ensures that
'everyone’s a winner' by providing probably the world’s most
comprehensive range of IP68 sealed
switches for marine,
commercial vehicles, trucks, fire engines, refuse vehicles,
earth moving equipment, access equipment, transportation and
general industrial applications.
Available in 1 and 2 poles, with up to 10 terminals, and ratings
up to 20A with a vast choice of circuit configurations and
hundreds of legends, which are being continuously expanded,
these switches are supplied fully assembled or as bases only,
with customer “add-on” rockers, thus enabling inventory to be
minimised.
V series switches are water proofed to either IP66 or IP68
(front of panel) providing protection against dust, prolonged
spray and submersion under pressure and provide ignition
protection for marine applications.
The series operates over the temperature range from -40ºC to
+85ºC and is available with an extensive choice of accessories
such as rear connectors to wire looms, 1, 3 or 6 switch modular
or fixed panel mounting frames, hole blanking plugs, boots and
illuminated panel indicators.
Available in illuminated or non-illuminated versions, actuators
come in seven, aesthetically designed, ranges offering tactile
soft or hard feel, with lenses available as bars, squares, and
ovals. There is also a locking rocker version and all ranges are
generally approved to VDE, UL and CSA.

support for incorporation of the V Series into customers’ own
design criteria and continuous development of the range ensures
that the most demanding requirements in configurations and
modern design will be available.
