RG Series: Backlash Free Rolling Ring Drives
The Uhing traverse is a linear drive based on the rolling ring drive
principle. The traverse converts the motion of a smooth, non-threaded shaft,
by rotating in only one direction, into totally backlash free reciprocating
linear motion. Range of applications include winding and spooling, general
drive, surface treatment, measuring and testing, materials handling,
converting and packaging, tyre manufacture and cutting machines.
Shaft Diameters : 15, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 and 80mm
Side Thrust : Up to 3600N
Stroke Width : Up to 5M
Speed : Up to 4.2m/sec
The rolling ring drive can be disengaged on the shaft and offers
instantaneous or delayed reversal features. Hydraulic or pneumatic controls
are available as an optional extra. |

Part numbers are constructed with the prefix RG for Rolling Ring Drive
or ARG to include Assembly, followed by the number of rolling rings, the
shaft diameter, design category and any extra features. For example
instantaneous reversal (M), scale for pitch setting (C), steady rollers
(R) and release lever (F). |
