Safety Couplings
Our range of direct-drive and indirect torque-limiting
safety couplings disengage highly dynamic drives within an unprecedented
2-4 ms of an overload signal, and then automatically re-engage at the
precise angular position. To date, no other overload protection
equipment responds as quickly without elaborate monitoring systems.
Conventional couplings typically take a full second to disengage.
Rimtec safety couplings are designed with integral precision roll or
ball guides, which guarantee a totally backlash-free transmission of
torque in both directions of rotation and under high acceleration. The
couplings are uniquely designed with a pre-stressed, degressive
Belleville spring that generates extremely fast switching times, and
protects equipment from even ultra-short surges in speed.
