Miniature Couplings
Zero-backlash miniature couplings provide today's high-speed, automated
manufacturing applications with servo-quality stiffness, low inertia and
an exceptionally long equipment life. Coupled with servomotors, stepper
motors or gearboxes, our lightweight, stainless steel miniature
couplings are ideal for machines with space limitations, and are widely
used on encoders, robots, linear slides and other electrical equipment.
Rimtec miniature couplings are uniquely designed to compensate for
misalignment of the motor shaft when assembled, and to self-loosen and
easily release when disassembled. Compared to traditional taper locks,
this clamping style is extremely cost-effective, as it achieves highly
accurate manufacturing tolerances, reduces bearing wear and machine
downtime, and nearly eliminates the need to inventory replacement drives
and other expensive assembly equipment.
The line transmits torque from 0.9 lb-in (0.1Nm) to 89 lb-in (10 Nm) on
shaft sizes ranging from 1/32" (1 mm) to 7/8" (22 mm).
