Cross Connection Accessories

Various functional requirements can be achieved with the aid of cross connecting systems. Techna offers different types of cross connecting accessories which includes a variety of temporary shorting links, permanent shorting links, shorting studs, shorting sleeves, multi-pole comb links and pre-assembled shorting assemblies.

When permanent shorting links are installed, TTEC Terminal Blocks are safe from accidental contact because the links rest below the top surface of terminal block.

Shorting / Comb Link's amperage is lower than the rated current of the respective terminal block, therefore the applied current must not exceed the maximum current value of the terminal block.

TTEC Shorting Links
In spring clamp type terminal blocks cross connections are achieved by using different type of push in type shorting links. The cross connecting shorting links need to be inserted into the rectangular slots provided in the current bar of the terminal block.

- 2 way insulated push in type Shorting Link is useful to short 2 consecutive Terminal Blocks.
- For shorting any two terminal blocks in between series of 10 terminal blocks, insulated push in type Wire shorting link is used.
- Alternate Shorting Links is convenient when cross connection is required between Alternate (non consecutive) terminal blocks.

Techna TTEC permanent shorting links for terminal blocks TTEC Permanent Shorting Links (PDF 134KB)

The TTEC Series Permanent Shorting Links, in tin plated copper / brass, are used for permanent cross connection of terminal blocks of the same potential. The links should be electrically connected to the terminal blocks with the aid of short TTEC Shorting Sleeves / Studs. TTEC Permanent Shorting Links are available in 2 pole, 3 pole, 4 pole and 10 pole lengths.

Techna TTEC removable shorting links for terminal blocks TTEC Removable Shorting Links (PDF 134KB)

The TTEC Series Removable Shorting Links, in tin plated copper / brass, are used for switchable cross connection. The links should be electrically connected to the adjacent terminal block of the same potential with the aid of long TTEC Shorting Sleeves / Studs. It is recommended to use TTEC Partition Plates for isolation of such cross connected terminals.

Techna TTEC comb links for terminal blocks TTEC Comb Links (PDF 134KB)

The TTEC Series Comb Links are used for cross connection wherever terminals in assemblies cannot be cross connected with the aid of conventional TTEC Shorting Links, Sleeves / Studs.
Multi-pole comb type links provide choice of consecutive shorting or alternate shorting. These links are insulated which makes them shock-proof. TTEC Comb Links are available without insulation.

Techna TTEC shorting sleeves for terminal blocks TTEC Shorting Sleeves (PDF 134KB)

The TTEC Series Shorting Sleeves, in tin / nickel plated brass along with steel fixing screw, are used for quick cross connection of terminal blocks in conjunction with TTEC Shorting Links (permanent or removable). Short TTEC Shorting Sleeves (for permanent cross connection) and long TTEC Shorting Sleeves (for temporary cross connection) may be selected according to the functional requirement.

Techna TTEC shorting stud for terminal blocks TTEC Shorting Stud (PDF 134KB)

The TTEC Series Shorting Stud screws, in tin / nickel plated brass along with steel fixing screw, are used for cross connection of terminal blocks in conjunction with TTEC Shorting Links (permanent or removable). Short TTEC Shorting Studs (for permanent cross connection) and long TTEC Shorting Studs (for temporary cross connection) may be selected according to the functional requirement.

Techna TTEC insulated shorting links for terminal blocks TTEC Insulated Push-In Type Shorting Links (PDF 134KB)

TTEC Insulated Push-In Type Shorting Links are specially designed for use in TTEC Spring Clamp Terminals. Besides providing shock protection, these links simplify the task of cross connection.

The link has to be inserted into the slot provided in the current carrying part of the terminal to bridge with adjacent / alternate terminals. Choice of adjacent and alternate TTEC Shorting Links are available.

Pre Assembled Shorting Links are ideal choice for quick permanent cross connections of terminal. Simply insert the link assembly and tighten the screws for quickest cross connection. Available in 2 / 3 / 4 / 10 / 100 pole assembly, the Pre Assembled Shorting Links have following advantages :

- Eliminates possibility of losing sleeves / screws while cross connecting because of captive screws used
- Saves considerable time for cross connection
- Simplifies the task of cross connection, with ease of use.

Techna TTEC insulated and non-insulated shorting links for terminal blocks TTEC Insulated and Non-insulated Pre-assembled Shorting Links (PDF 134KB)

The TTEC Pre-Assembled Shorting Links, with captive sleeves and screws, are recommended for quick cross connections. These 2, 3, 4 and 10 pole assemblies of links and sleeves have the following advantages:
Cross connection task is simplified.

Eliminates possibility of losing sleeves or screws while cross connecting.
Saves considerable time in cross connecting.

Techna TTEC sideways shorting links for terminal blocks TTEC Sideways Shorting Links (PDF 134KB)

The TTEC Series Side Ways Shorting Links are used for cross connection wherever terminals in assemblies cannot be cross connected with the aid of conventional TTEC Shorting Links, Sleeves / Studs. The links are insulated which makes them shock-proof. TTEC Side Ways Shorting Links are available in 2, 3 and 4 pole lengths. Choice of temporary / permanent Side Ways Shorting Links are available. TTEC Side Ways Shorting Links without insulation are available.
