MTEC Moulded Case Circuit Breakers

Engineered for maximum flexibility and ruggedness, Techna Mtec Moulded Case Circuit Breakers provide current-limiting protection and switching for practically all LV applications. The innovative, and aesthetically pleasing, modular design offers a complete choice of configuration options from a surprisingly small range of parts - giving you the logistical advantage of short lead times and reduced inventory costs.

This leading range of moulded case circuit breakers come in five frame sizes with up to 100kA breaking capacity and a 10ms 'off' time. Mtec electronic release modules use digital sampling to calculate true rms current for precise, accurate tripping. Current ratings can be set from 40A to 1600A and special calibrations are available for protection of motors and discrimination in distribution systems.

From the MTEC-BD 250 model upwards, interchangeable plug-in digital trip modules offer precise monitoring of RMS current, and are field adjustable, providing protection for transformers, cables, industrial applications, buildings, infrastructure projects and universal applications where loads are not precisely specified.

These fail-safe trip modules are available for protection of lines, transformers, generators and general power distribution networks and offer complete customisation of the trip curve via a rotary control on the front panel, as well as optional electronic thermal memory. This simulates the behaviour of a bi-metal such that the MCCB cannot be re-energised, after thermal overload, before allowing the system to return to a safe operating temperature.

The most advanced release modules allow full discrimination for cascading distribution chains and include the ability to set instantaneous trip if the current exceeds a pre-determined I²t value.

Trip modules can also be replaced with a blanking panel, converting the MTEC moulded case circuit breaker into a switch disconnector.

To complement the series, a comprehensive set of plug-in accessories continue the modular principle. Termination, actuation and signalling options can all be added to the base units to enhance the value of the range.

A wide range of terminals for front, rear or top connection of busbars, cable lugs or cables combines with optional plug-in or withdrawable mountings and panel hardware options including lockable manual rotary control, motorised control, as well as door and mechanical interlocks.

European made and built to last, MTEC includes a full range of modular, plug-in accessories allowing all possible configurations to be easily assembled from stock, with a complete range of options including auxiliary contacts, shunt trips and undervoltage release modules.

MTEC offers both standard lever switching or rotary handle operation. Rotary handles feature defeatable door interlock abilities.

With MTEC, Techna offer a top quality and extremely versatile moulded case circuit breaker range certified to EN60947-2 and IEC 947-2, which w
hen partnered with the class-leading performance of Techna’s VDE Certified/UL Listed JTEC Miniature Circuit Breaker range, provides ideal and amazingly cost-effective solutions for LV power distribution and control systems, at exceptionally attractive prices.

High performance, Small dimensions
With a breaking capacity of 25kA/415V, our new baby MTEC moulded case circuit breaker, at just 130mm x 75mm x 70mm, further extends our 3 and 4 pole MTEC MCCB family.

This mini moulded case circuit breaker, with integral trip module, widens our MTEC range from 12A to 1600A, 25kA to 65kA, and just 5 frame sizes, in one of the best looking, most technically advanced and widely accessorised ranges available.

Mtec DTV3 Electronic Releases
Designed for protection of cables and distribution systems supplied by a transformer.

Basic adjustments to tripping characteristics are made simple with rotary controls on the front panel. Rated overload current can be set from 40% to 100% of nominal current and the short-circuit trip current can also be modified. Optional thermal memory simulation delays reset after thermal overload to allow the system to return to a safe operating temperature. Three nominal current ratings are available for each frame size. All trip curves are featured in the downloadable PDF along with more detailed technical data.

Mtec MTV8 Electronic Releases
Designed for protection of cables, motors and distribution systems supplied by a transformer or generator set.

Fine-tuning of all tripping characteristics is made simple with rotary controls on the front panel. Rated overload current can be set from 40% to 100% of nominal current. Short circuit trip current is fully adjustable and can be delayed by 50ms if required. In addition, the MTV8 series offers a choice of specially calibrated trip curves to protect motors and transformers. When motor characteristics are set, the device also protects against phase failure, tripping if one or two phases fail for longer than 4s.
Optional thermal memory simulation delays reset after thermal overload to allow the system to return to a safe operating temperature. Three nominal current ratings are available for each frame size. All trip curves are featured in the downloadable PDF along with more detailed technical data.

Mtec M001 Electronic Releases
Provides completely customisable tripping characteristics for protection of virtually any distribution application.

Tripping discrimination enables optimised integration with other protection devices in the system. Fine-tuning of all tripping characteristics is made simple with rotary controls on the front panel. Rated overload current can be set from 51% to 100% of nominal current and the short circuit trip current is fully adjustable. In addition, a time-delayed secondary trip current can be set (with optional constant I²t if required) for discrimination between the Mtec MCCB and other protection devices in the system. Optional thermal memory simulation delays reset after thermal overload to allow the system to return to a safe operating temperature. This release is only suitable for use with MtecBL1600S Switching Units and four nominal current ratings are available. For more detailed technical data please see the downloadable PDF. Trip curves.

Mtec V001 Switch Disconnect Adaptors
